As a video game composer, it is important to get critical feedback from peer reviewed video game enthusiasts. It is how we grow and learn to know where we can improve on our craft. It is how we can self-reflect and see what we are writing right or wrong musically to reach our audience. Take a baby step or giant leap into the world </ Reality>. Game Grooves, a video game music review website, did just that. You’ll want to dive right into this futuristic soundtrack released in April 2017 sooner than later. The soundtrack is designed to take you on a journey of sorts and contains some hidden musical gems. See if you can identify them like the review did.
Greetings and Salutations – Video Game Composer, Chase Bethea. Yesterday I had the great privilege of being on IGN & Kinda Funny’s Platform at the same time through the live stream of The Guerilla Collective. The Guerilla Collective is an online digital games festival hosted by Greg Miller and produced by Media Indie Exchange (The MIX) with Kinda Funny Games Showcase. This specfic event was hosted by Justin Woodward and Alfonso Hooker from We Are Game Heads.
I am so grateful and elated to be one of the live performers at IndieCade this year. Major thanks to David Javelosa, former Audio Director at Sega of America and Game Industry Specialist for the Yamaha Corporation for the opportunity.
During the set-list, I performed pieces from the Aground soundtrack and some pieces from Deity Quest and Super Happy Fun Block.
I was given the pleasure and honor to be back on the “Level with Emily” Podcast with Emily Reese.
After two years of composing for this game, I am pleased to announce the pre-order is now available on Bandcamp.
Wow, what can I say? A two for one! I am so elated. I have been patiently waiting to have recognition from Kinda Funny in some capacity for a few years now. More importantly, it has been a dream of mine to be a part of some E3 showcase since I started working in the industry. Now, Aground will be included.
I am more than excited and pleased to announce the release of my first album and video game album, I Can’t Escape by Fancy Fish Games, the original soundtrack from the Video Game.
