Pro Player Perspective – Game Conferences that Value and Pay Their Speakers

I’ve given over 45 talks at conferences in the past two years and one thing that stands out is how often speakers are essential to events but rarely compensated for their time.  It’s disheartening and confusing, especially when these events monetize the speakers’ content, placing it behind paywalls or on platforms like YouTube, where they gain thousands of views and generate revenue. Despite this, many conferences still expect speakers to participate for free, which undervalues the expertise and time we bring to the table.
