GDC Festival of Gaming Reflection
March 16, 2026Wow. This GDC 2026 was one of those.
I am grateful to still be in video games. Be a 4x GDC Guest Speaker. Be featured in the Audiokinetic Documentary and have a highly successful and effective round-table. I am grateful to still be here.
I described this year as”chaotic” but in a good way. The chaos came from running into people at any corner and the time I needed to get to the meeting that was scheduled was used for meeting and talking to people in the moment. I’m not sure if it’s a “celebrity“ or knowing people thing because I learned some time ago to not talk to everybody I see when I know I need to get somewhere. But this is the nature of the conference when you have multiple paths to get to your destination and you don’t know who you will run into.
I am thankful for the meetings that I had and the new people I met.

Black in Gaming put on another stellar festival, awards and smashing after-party. It was slamming.
Xsolla had some chill settings. I really could have hung out in there all day.

In addition to that, I am grateful for the Diversity in Game Audio Round-table. Having it at 9:30am is rough but people showed up. Even more so, people participated, had a lot share and almost every seat was filled. The the takeaway from potent and effective discussion was the rephrasing of “DEI” and even though it has been removed from many companies it will not stop the movement and the initiatives to continue. Unification prevails.
