Chase Bethea Clutches 2nd NYX Gold Award for Aground Zero OST
July 7, 2025I am honored to share, that I won Best Original Soundtrack for the game, Aground Zero.
In 2021, I won my first award in the field for the game, Aground – a 3.5 million dollar play base.
Aground Zero shipped in April of 2025 and I am grateful that people like the work from it’s debut of the Listening Party to now receiving my 2nd Gold award from the NYX organization. You can read my winner interview here.
This soundtrack was incredibly hard to write for three years, constantly searching for inspiration and while innovating in the colony sim genre for video game music. In addition, as video game composer, making the score completely dynamic tied to game mechanics and story points in ways to keep the player engaged.
